The Greater Bay Area STEM Excellence Award 2022 (HKSAR) is organized by Hong Kong New Emerging Technology Education Association (HKNETEA) and supported by the Education Bureau (EDB), Innovation and Technology Bureau（ITB) and Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO).
This Award aims to enhance students’ creativity and innovation, and recognise young STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) talents for their efforts. Categories include ICT (Information and Communication Technology), Robotics, Science Lab , AI(Artificial Intelligence) and ArtTech.

Hong Kong Cyber Security New Generation Capture the Flag Challenge 2021
Co-oganised by 6 education and cyber security experts, this online contest is one of the exciting and challenging cyber security game of its kinds. This year we relaxed the rule to allow single members team! Even more, international teams will be invited to attend the Invitation Group and you may have chance to compare your achievement with them.
The CTF Challenge aims to arouse the cyber security awareness of the student, and to encourage problem solving with teamwork, cyber security skills and creative thinking via a fun game. Students can learn web security, cryptography, forensic, binary analysis and reverse engineering, etc. All these are the required knowledge cyber security roles such as security analyst, penetration tester, developer, system engineer or even bug hunter! Students who would like to start a career within cyber security are welcome to join. Gold, Silver and Bronze award 🥇🥈🥉will be presented in a Webinar and Award Presentation Ceremony. An online workshop by top Hong Kong CTF players will be held to show you the strategy, skills and tips 👍🏻👍🏻.

HKHS Gerontech Competition 2021/22
In light of an ageing population in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) has embarked on different elderly housing projects for over 20 years and rolled out the Aging-in-Place (AIP) Scheme in rental estates to advocate the concept of “Ageing in Place”. To help elderly live an independent and self-reliant life in their retirement life, HKHS is sparing no effort to promote gerontechnology.
This year, HKHS is organizing the Competition again where the scope of tertiary students has been expanded, both tertiary and university students are welcome to join, thereby encouraging more younger generation to invent elderly friendly products through creative ideas and the application of technology and gerontology. The Competition also aims to promote an age-friendly community and inject new impetus into gerontechnology industry.
The Competition consists of two rounds. Participating teams will first understand the theme of the Competition by taking part in various activities and submit preliminary design. Shortlisted teams from round one will proceed to round two where they will receive advice from professionals and take part in elderly visits to learn more about the needs of the elderly for enhancing their entries’ practicality.

Cathay Hackathon 2021
Cathay Hackathon welcomes all students to participate. This year, they are reinventing the hackathon with power sessions, workshops and activities. With a range of problem statements related to travel lifestyle, participants will showcase their talents by brainstorming, developing, and presenting their innovative technology solutions to a panel of industry experts. Participants will also gain the opportunity to kickstart an exciting career in aviation by receiving an IT internship or fast-tracked application to our IT Graduate Trainee Programme.

Hong Kong Cyber Security New Generation CAPTURE THE PLAG Challenge 2021
Continuous innovation in Internet technology development and applications has enhanced quality of life and work efficiency but at the same time has created various new cyber security challenges. It only serves to fuel the demand for cyber security professionals. To cope with the challenges, the training of local cyber security practitioners and nurturing of new generations are indispensable.
For the new generation, Technology Education (TechEd) could foster and enhance their knowledge and interest in cyber security, train up their creative thinking as well as learn skills such as cryptography, programming concept, network forensics to cope with new challenges.
For existing cyber security practitioners, regular update of latest trends and enhancement of cyber security skills can help organizations to reduce the risk and improve incident response capability.
In light of this, Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (HKCERT) and Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) will jointly host the “Hong Kong Cyber Security New Generation Capture the Flag (CTF) Challenge 2021” (The Contest) to strengthen the cyber security skills and awareness of the industry and students and encourage problem solving through teamwork, creative thinking and cyber security skills.
Workshops by cyber security experts will be organized to help the participants understand the format and type of questions of the Contest and get prepared for it.
