HKU, together with four other local universities, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) to foster collaboration on CBDC research and development.
Professor S.M. YIU and Dr. John YUEN of the Department of Computer Science with other three HKU faculty members, Professor Chen LIN and Dr. Yang YOU from School of Business, and Professor Douglas ARNER from the Faculty of Law, joined the CBDC Expert Group.
