Dr. Liu joined the Department of Computer Science at HKU as an Assistant Professor in 2022. His research interests include artificial intelligence and machine learning. He has earned more than 2,000 citations with influential academic papers published over the past five years. Prior to HKU, the young scientist worked for major AI research labs including Google DeepMind, Facebook AI Research, and Microsoft Research. His focus is on developing chatbots and large language models (LLMs) that can be used in industrial applications. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Oxford.
