We are pleased to report that Prof. Stephen S. Yau
has been named as the winner of the 2002 Tsutomu
Kanai Award by IEEE Computer Society, Washington
DC, "for outstanding contributions in object-oriented
software development for distributed computing systems".
Prof. Yau is our current external examiner. He was
a six-month visitor of our Department in 2002. He
is also the general chair of the 3rd International
Conference on Quality Software (QSIC 2003), co-organized
by The Software Engineering Group of our department
and co-sponsored by The University of Hong Kong,
to be held in Dallas, Texas in November this year.
