Professor Wang is now Professor of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University. He has been Chair Professor and Head (2012-2017) of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Hong Kong. He conducts research in visual computing and has over 300 technical publications.

Research Interests: Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Human-Computer Interaction, Scientific Visualization, Virtual Reality (VR/AR), Robotics, Machine Learning, Medical Imaging, Digital Dentistry, and Geometric Modeling.

Professional Services:  Professor Wang serves or has served as journal associate editor of Computer Aided Geometric Design (CAGD), Computers and Graphics (CAG), IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG), Computer Graphics Forum (CGF), IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, and IEEE Transactions on Computers. He has chaired a number of international conferences, including ACM Symposium on Physical and Solid Modeling (SPM 2006), International Conference on Shape Modeling (SMI 2009), Pacific Graphics 2012, SIAM Conference on Geometric and Physical Modeling 2013 (GD/SPM'13), SIGGRAPH Asia 2013, Geometry Summit 2019 and Geometry Summit 2023. He has been Founding Chairman of Asian Graphics Association (2016-2020).
