Workshop on Quadruped Robot Making and Programming @ Engineering Summer Camp for the Elite 2016
Twelve elite secondary school students attended a workshop on "Quadruped Robot Making and Programming" which was supervised by Dr. Dirk Schnieders, conducted by Mr. Kevin Lam and Miss Jolly Cheng, and assisted by Mr. David Lee from the MakerLab of the Department of Computer Science for the Engineering Summer Camp for the Elite 2016 organized by the Faculty of Engineering from July 18-22, 2016 at the University of Hong Kong.
At the workshop, participants were first given an introduction to 3D printing and Arduino programming before working in groups of three to build and program their own 3D print robot - CubeBot for performing various tasks. A visit to the MakerLab was also arranged.
A competition was held at the end of the workshop for demonstrating the capabilities of the robots built by individual teams, and the winner went to the "CAR" team which comprised of Charly Cheung Wing Sze, Ayush Kumar and Rachel Dsilva.
