Professor Wenping Wang Receives HKU Outstanding Researcher Award
Congratulations to Professor Wenping Wang for receiving the HKU Outstanding Researcher Award of 2012-13. This highly-coveted award is only made to researchers of distinction. Selection and assessment for this award are based on documented evidence of international recognition of research accomplishments, the quality and quantity of research publications, the ability to attract research grants, and high-impact applied research work.
Professor Wang first joined the Department of Computer Science at HKU in September 1993. He was promoted to Associate Professor and Professor in 1999 and 2007 respectively, and is currently the Head of the Department since 2012. The research interests of Professor Wang cover geometric modeling, computer graphics and data visualization, and he has published extensively in these areas. Professor Wang serves as general chair or PC chair of many international conferences and associate editor of several premier journals in Geometric Modeling and Computer Graphics.
On top of the "Outstanding Researcher" title and a certificate, Professor Wang will also receive a monetary award for research purposes.
