Professor Nikos Mamoulis Promoted to Full Professor

Prof. Nikos Mamoulis has recently been promoted to full professor in the Department of Computer Science at HKU. He first joined the Department as assistant professor in September 2001, and was promoted to associate professor in June 2007.

Prof. Mamoulis is a regular reviewer for journals and has been a program committee member of over 80 international conferences and workshops. He is a very productive researcher with publications appearing regularly in/at various reputable journals and conferences. Recently, he has published a book titled "Spatial Data Management" for the Morgan & Claypool Publishers.

Prof. Mamoulis received numerous grants from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, and was selected for the HKU Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2008‑2009.

Congratulations to Prof. Mamoulis for the award of Professorship which signifies the University's recognition of his achievements in teaching and research, and his contributions and services to the Department and the University.
