Dr Reynold Cheng Receives Universitas 21 Fellowship 2011‑12

Dr Reynold Cheng, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, has been awarded the Universitas 21 Fellowship to visit the National University of Singapore for 2 months in the summer of 2011 to enhance research collaboration in continuous monitoring for large evolving databases, and to teach and interact with postgraduate students on an advanced topic in databases ‑ uncertain database management. [An article on his visit to Singapore was published in the U21 Newsletter (Issue Oct 2011 - page 12).]

Dr Cheng is a HKU alumnus and re-joined our Department as an academic staff in 2008. His journal article entitled "Scalable processing of snapshot and continuous nearest-neighor queries over one-dimensional uncertain data" published in The Very Large Databases Journal in 2009 was awarded the 2010 Research Output Prize in our Department.
