Research Projects of CISC Appear at the 1st INTERPOL Information Security Conference

The Center for Information Security and Cryptography (CISC) introduced its ITC projects “Robust Face Detection and Reconstruction Method that addresses inherent limitations in Face Recognition Technology” (ITS/174/08), “Flexible Framework for GPGPU-based Video Decoding and Post-processing” (ITS/139/09), and “Object-oriented Motion Deblurring Technology for Forensic Video Enhancement” (ITS/152/09) at the exhibition of the 1st INTERPOL Information Security Conference (IISC) which was held at the Hong Kong Police Headquarters in Wanchai from September 15–17, 2010.

CISC’s booth was jointly setup with the Information Security and Forensics Society (ISFS), a society which advocates and enforces professionalism, integrity and innovation in Information Security and Computer Forensics in Hong Kong and the surrounding region.

The Conference was the first ever such global conference, which was co–hosted by INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) and the Hong Kong Police. The conference seeks to address the international responsibilities posed by threats to personal data as well as to critical infrastructures. It brought together industry leaders, academic experts and law enforcement representatives of the 188 INTERPOL member countries.
