Professor Tak-Wah Lam was awarded the Department's Teaching Excellence Award for the academic year 2007-08. This was the 5th time that Professor Lam was presented with this award. He also received the Best Teacher Award in the Faculty of Engineering in 2005-06.
Five tutors received the Best Tutor Awards in the academic year 2007-08. They were Mr. Chim Tat Wing, Mr. Chui Chun Kit, Miss Lai Ka Ying, Pierre, Mr. Mei Lijun and Mr. Dirk Schnieders. All of them are current PhD students in the Department of Computer Science.
Mr. Chim joined the Department as a full-time demonstrator in September 2007. He has just commenced his PhD study on Information Security in our Department from this academic year.
Mr. Chui started his PhD study in our Department in November 2007. He is now working on a thesis related to Data Engineering.
Miss Lai finished her MPhil study in our Department in 2006 and worked for the Center for Information Security and Cryptography for one year before commencing her PhD study in September 2007. Her research area is on Computer Forensics.
Mr. Mei started his PhD study in our Department in September 2006. His area of research is on Software Engineering.
Mr. Schnieders also started his PhD study in our Department in September 2006. The topic of his thesis is in the area of Computer Vision.
