First International Conference on Scalable Information Systems (INFOSCALE), May 29 - June 1 2006, Hong Kong

MESSAGE FROM PROGRAM CO-CHAIRS

It has been a great challenge to start from ground zero and finally arrive at a collection of high-quality papers to fill the conference's program. After all, this is the very first Infoscale conference, and from our experiences, a new conference needs a fair amount of time to get into the main stream and become widely accepted. Judging from that the responses for this one, we are confident that Infoscale will soon be on par with other established conferences in the same areas and for the same categories of participants.

We received 91 submissions from authors in different parts of the world, each of which was reviewed by 2 to 3 experts in the field. 33 of the submitted papers were accepted as regular papers, and 9 were accepted as short papers. To make the program more complete with respect to the conference theme, we invited a group of scholars who have done excellent work in their respective areas to contribute a paper, which resulted in 14 invited papers being added to the conference program. We are grateful to all the reviewers for their hard work and wonderful reviews.
