First International Conference on Scalable Information Systems (INFOSCALE 2006) Co-sponsored by IEEE CS Society 29 May - 1 Jun 2006, Hong Kong http://www.cs.hku.hk/infoscale06/ http://www.infoscale.org/ CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS OVERVIEW: As the data volumes continue to increase and the ways of information dispersion across the globe continue to diversify, new scalable methods and structures are needed for efficiently processing those distributed and autonomous data. Grid computing, P2P technology, distributed information retrieval technology, and networking technology all must be merged to address the scalability concern. This forum focuses on this key merged domain and looks for new integrated solutions for this diversifying world of information. WHAT TO SUBMIT: We solicit proposals for workshops on new and emerging topics that are relevant to the conference scope. An ideal proposal would focus on a specific theme, be of current interest, and be able to attract a number of high quality submissions. Proposals for one-day workshops to be held in conjunction with the conference are solicited. We are planning to host 4 one-day workshops on the day before / after the main conference. The workshop proposal should be a maximum of 2 pages long and should clearly identify the theme, the scope, and specific topic areas of interest which define the scope of the workshop. The proposal should also suggest potential program chairs and program committee members. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Please send workshop proposals in ASCII or PDF format by November 15, 2005 to the workshop chair, Niki Pissinou, email: pissinou@fiu.edu. IMPORTANT DEADLINES: Submission for Workshop Proposals: 15 Nov 2005 Notification: 30 Nov 2005 WORKSHOP CHAIR: Niki Pissinou, Florida International University, pissinou@fiu.edu WORKSHOP VICE-CHAIRS: Hao Zhu, hao.zhu@fiu.edu Tirthankar Ghosh, tirthankar.ghosh@fiu.edu
